Just visited for the first time since moving to the area after more than 20 years in Los Angeles, where you have lots of options for authentic Asian markets. I love this place! It has all of the ingredients you could want for home cooking, as well as a plethora of spices, snacks, sweets, and drinks. My husband is a huge seafood lover and the selection of fresh and frozen options alongside dried and canned snacks had him in oceanic heaven. The staff was fantastic also - warm, friendly, and helpful. We will most certainly be back on a regular basis.
The best baklava I have ever had! VERY friendly owner. Clean, large space with a wide variety of tastey treats! And they take EBT which made shopping a little easier :) Thank you for your generosity in portions and friendly service!
UPDATE: SORRY it told me this was where I went yesterday but it was actually the A & A Market , not this place! We will be going to your store instead now! Most items were great, but the 1 candy item we got was expired which we didn't notice until after eating the first cocomango ball things and they tasted like rotten milk 🤢🤮 then I read the date and it said expired April 2023...Check your dates people
Others have left helpful recent reviews about the current selection and great staff. I will add just two things: One, if you haven't stopped in for a while, do check it out again. This location has been through a few iterations, and while I miss the o.g. Asian market, it's a very nice place to shop now, too. Two, for hikers and campers: check this wonderful store out ASAP! In addition to the whole and fresh foods, I have found so many perfect foods to fill my backpack before heading out on the trail, or just for a camping trip. They carry many shelf stable and compact options you will not find elsewhere, Persian, European, and more. Some of my favorites are the small tins of various spreads, the sweets, and instant soups. And truly the prices are unbeatable when shopping for backpacker-friendly foods. This is not a shop that caters to the outdoorsperson specifically, the brands are not "backpacking food," but many of the foods they carry lend themselves so well to it, you would be missing out if you didn't stop in. You can keep the mountain house biscuits and gravy, I'll spend the same money here and get five items I love much more. I'll dive into the Top Ten Reasons You Should Be Bringing Halva On the Trail another time. 😁 I hope you stop into FMIF soon and find something to love!
